Segunda Mana: Countering the Culture of Waste
Segunda Mana is Caritas Manila’s donated goods program and a social enterprise that promotes a culture of reuse and counters the culture of waste.
Individuals, households, communities, and corporations are encouraged to donate all kinds of usable items, including—but not limited to—clothes, footwear, fashion accessories, gadgets, office equipment, appliances, furniture, and even secondhand vehicles.
Donated goods are sold in Segunda Mana Charity Outlets, and the proceeds are converted into cash to help fund the education of our YSLEP scholars.
Triple Bottomline
Segunda Mana:
1. Helps fund over 5,000 scholars nationwide under the Youth Servant Leadership & Education Program (YSLEP);
2. Support the livelihood of micro-entrepreneurs and their families from informal sectors like BASECO and Payatas; and
3. Promote the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
