We NEED your HELP...
Back to School Telethon 2019

For more than 60 years, CARITAS MANILA is the lead church-based non-profit organization in the Philippine that aims to bring Christ’s love to the least, the last and to the lost through its program ministry that focused on social services and development.
In the latest Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) survey on poverty indicators, 3.8 million or 1 out of 10 children ages 6-24 are not in school, which 3.3 million or 86% of them are mostly youth ages 16-24 years old. How can the youth contribute to the good of the country if we do not give them a chance?
In this year 2019, the Church declared “Year of the Youth” with the theme: Filipino Youth in Mission: Beloved, Gifted, Empowered. We are launching the Feeding of the 5000: Sponsorship Project of Caritas Manila for the Back to School Campaign 2019 with an aim to help send 5000 youth servant leaders from the poorest of the poor provinces in the country to acquired college and vocational technology degree through the help of our flagship program, YOUTH SERVANT LEADERSHIP AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM (YSLEP). These underprivileged youths will be provided financial assistance to support them with their educational needs. The program will allow the youth servant leaders to undergo leadership trainings, spiritual formation and community & church volunteer services.
As a church-based organization, we envision a country that is free of poverty, which we believe, is aligned to your mission. With God’s help, we believe that our work will make greater impact in nation building. Your support will give us the confidence to invest in long term solutions to eradicate poverty. The youth shall become – as our National Hero Jose Rizal said – the hope of our nation.
We also invite you to join us in this year’s Caritas Manila Back to School Telethon on July 1, 2019, Monday at Radio Veritas 846, as we aim to raise more funds for these youths. We just want to let you know that every time a Youth Servant Leader gets a sponsor, his or her family, community, and the country, also gets a stronger foundation.
Thank you and God bless you and your love ones for your generosity!
Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.
– Proverbs 19:17

ALAY KAPWA 2019
Alay Kapwa is an annual Lenten Evangelization and fundraising program of the Roman Catholic Church for social services of the poor and most in need, especially during times of disaster.
The Philippines is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world. Each year, an average of 20 storms and typhoons hit the Philippines. During this time, many people especially the poor need help and assistance. Caritas Manila, the lead social services and development ministry of the Church, responds to crises and calamities through Caritas Damayan, providing emergency and relief assistance, humanitarian aid to victims and educates disaster-prone communities by conducting pre-disaster training and help in the restoration and rebuilding of communities.
Funds raised from Alay Kapwa will be used as emergency funds for both natural and human-caused calamities like typhoons, floods, fire, earthquakes, and other tragedies and crises, and for disaster prevention and mitigation programs.
