• Emergency relief response within 24 to 72 hours is the most crucial and urgent time to respond to those affected by calamities.
• Caritas Damayan has prepositioned its goods and tied up with a network of organized groups, volunteers, and parish or diocesan partners nationwide to provide efficient and effective relief aid to those in need.
• Relief packs provided are:

Food Security and Nutrition

Supplemental Feeding program for the poor and undernourished experiencing involuntary hunger and malnutrition.

The Feeding Program is of 2 methods

1. Community Feeding Program
   • Fed daily for 180 days from 26 centralized kitchens in Mega Manila. Meals are prepared by volunteers and distributed to identified poor and marginalized individuals, homeless and street dwellers, poor children, abandoned elderly, and persons with disabilities (PWD).
     
     

     ₱5,400 can feed a crisis individual for 6 months.

2. Integrated Nutrition Program
   • Fed daily for 180 days from 26 centralized kitchens in Mega Manila. Meals are prepared by volunteers and distributed to identified poor and marginalized individuals, homeless and street dwellers, poor children, abandoned elderly, and persons with disabilities (PWD).
     
     

     ₱3,200 can feed a poor malnourished child for 6 months.

Caritas in Action

• Caritas In Action Program in cooperation with Radio Veritas 846 directs its services in helping the poorest of the poor, especially those in crises, to reawaken the “Good Samaritan” in every person to extend its genuine acts of mercy.
• A PRE, PROPER, and POST phase of intervention is conducted in every client’s needs to assist them towards recovery and rehabilitation with partner parishes, dioceses, and referral non-government and private organizations/foundation to lessen their dole-out dependency by providing them self-empowerment opportunities to be relevant in their community through pay-forward in any form like parish social work involvement, volunteer movement, tithing, feeding, private donors or becoming Samaritans in their simple way.

• GENESIS129 Program is to help people create a better common home – “Laudato Si” by demonstrating a more sustainable, enriching way of living and everything vital for replication.
• It envisions Stewards in a new age of cooperation, collaboration, and sustainability. We do this by demonstrating what’s possible and developing modular food systems for replication easy enough, affordable enough, and attractive enough so that a positive and sustainable world change will spread on its own.

All is Well

• The Caritas Preventive Health Center (CPHC) constitutes the primary level of health care, designed to provide immediate health care to the urban poor population. As a Catholic response, we exercise responsible stewardship of available health care resources. A just health care service promotes equity of care and assures that the right of each person to primary health care is respected and also promotes good health for all in the community.
• In 2007, Caritas Manila through the Archdiocese of Manila and Monte de Piedad Fund organized parish-based clinics to provide optimal care to the community
• There are 28 Caritas Preventive Health Clinics in the Archdiocese of Manila and Relocation sites in Laguna, Montalban, and Bulacan
• Centers were established to deliver the health care needs of the poor, the uninsured, and the underinsured. To achieve and maintain an acceptable standard quality of care, Caritas Manila will provide a set of minimum standards that would act as a benchmark and help monitor and improve the functioning of Caritas Preventive Health Centers.
