With the aim of helping more youth scholars and provide livelihood opportunities to poor families in the country, Caritas Manila continues to expand its donations-in-kind program, Segunda Mana.
Caritas Manila opened a bigger Segunda Mana Charity Outlet in Farmers Plaza in Cubao, Quezon City on May 11, 2017. Rev. Fr. Anton C.T. Pascual led the blessing and opening with guests (from left to right) Caritas Manila Board of Trustees member, Mr. Luis Vera, Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, Ambassador to the Holy See Mercy Tuazon, and Segunda Mana benefactor Nena Prieto.
“We hope that we can help more people and more poor to help themselves through Segunda Mana,” Fr. Pascual said.
Currently, Segunda Mana has 26 charity outlets located at 2002 Pandacan Manila, Makati Square, Harrison Plaza – Pasay, Victory Mall Caloocan, Star Mall EDSA, Sta. Lucia Mall – Cainta, Isetann Recto, S, Farmer’s Plaza – Cubao, Victory Mall Pasay, River Banks Mall – Marikina, Metro Point – Pasay, Greenfield District EDSA – Shaw, Starmall San Jose Del Monte Bulacan, Paseo de Sta Rosa in Laguna, Simbayanan ni Maria in Taguig, Tutuban Center Mall – Manila, Victory Town Center Bulacan, Alimall – Cubao, Good Earth Plaza – Carriedo, Comoda Ville – Antipolo and Cartimar, Pasay.
Segunda Mana is the donations-in-kind program of Caritas Manila that accepts pre-loved item such as clothes, shoes, bags, toys, home and fashion accessories as gifts of charity. It advocates the 3Rs: reuse, reduce and recycle, and provides opportunities for livelihood to about 400 Segunda Mana micro-entrepreneurs. Segunda Mana also supports over 5,000 poor but deserving youth scholars under the flagship program of Caritas Manila, the Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP).
