Radio Veritas 846, the leading faith-based AM station in Mega Manila, is set to air Caritas Manila’s “Apostolate Day Program,” on November 19, 2017, Sunday at Santo Niño sub parish in Baseco Compound, Manila.
The station will pre-empt programs “God will make a way” and “Tinig ng Pastol” from 9 am to 11 am to make way for the Eucharistic Celebration to be led by Radio Veritas President and Caritas Manila Executive Director Rev. Fr. Anton CT Pascual to be followed by Interviews to selected beneficiaries and benefactors.
Coinciding with the celebration of the first ever World Day of the Poor, the Apostolate Day Program aims to make the beneficiaries of the Hapag-Asa Integrated Nutrition program and the scholars of the Youth Servant Leadership program (YSLEP) meet the donors who have continuously helped and supported them.
Hapag-Asa Integrated Nutrition Program is the Church’s response to fight malnutrition in densely populated communities where circumstances of deficiency are palpable. It was launched by the Pondo ng Pinoy Community Foundation (PnPCFI), then headed by Cardinal Gaudencio B. Rosales and 13 other bishops in July 2005 in partnership with Assisi Development Foundation (ADFI) and Feed the Children Philippines (FTCPI). CBCP-NASSA Caritas Filipinas Foundation, Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) and Risen Saviour Missions (RSM) also joined the efforts of Hapag-Asa in fighting malnutrition in the Philippines.
Caritas Manila’s flagship program, YSLEP, focuses on education for the underprivileged youth, supporting 5,000 scholars nationwide.
